What Nonstop is Looking For:
Nonstop Administration and Insurance Services, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and versatile Infrastructure Engineer to join our growing technology team. This role serves as a critical bridge between our DevOps and IT departments, ensuring the stability, integrity, and efficiency of our hybrid cloud and server infrastructure.
The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with deep expertise in AWS cloud services, Linux systems administration, and a solid understanding of Google Workspace. You will handle DevOps requests, automate operational workflows, and serve as a key technical resource for resolving complex server-related issues.
Primary Responsibilities:
DevOps (60%)
- Design, build, and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Manage and enhance CI/CD pipelines to automate the deployment of applications and services.
- Implement and manage monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions (e.g., CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog) to ensure infrastructure health and performance.
- Automate routine operational tasks and workflows using Python or Bash.
- Manage core AWS services, including EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, and Lambda.
- Collaborate with development teams to optimize application performance, reliability, and scalability.
IT Operations & Systems Administration (40%)
- Serve as the primary escalation point for the IT department on all Linux server-related issues (performance tuning, troubleshooting, security hardening).
- Perform regular system administration tasks, including patching, upgrades, and configuration management.
- Assist with network configuration, firewall management, and VPN troubleshooting related to server infrastructure.
- Act as a subject matter expert for Google Workspace, supporting complex administrative tasks, security policy implementation, and escalations.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation for systems, processes, and configurations.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to respond to critical infrastructure incidents.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3–5+ years in a DevOps, SRE, or Senior Linux Systems Administrator role.
- Expert-level proficiency in Linux administration (Ubuntu, CentOS, RHEL) and shell scripting (Bash).
- Strong, hands-on experience with core AWS services (EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, RDS, CloudWatch).
- Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, preferably Terraform.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI).
- Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, SSL/TLS).
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills, Experience and Education:
- AWS Certification (SysOps Administrator or Solutions Architect).
- Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Proficiency in Python or another high-level scripting language.
- Hands-on experience administering Google Workspace in a corporate environment.
- Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB Atlas).
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
- Remote position involves regular collaboration across departments via video conferencing, phone, email and messaging platforms
- Requires prolonged periods of sitting and consistent use of a computer and other standard office equipment
- Ability to travel occasionally for team meetings, trainings, and/or company events
