Who We’re Looking For
VPL is seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager of Implementation & Project Management to provide daily leadership to a growing team of seasoned Project Management and Implementation professionals. This individual will have additional responsibilities for end-to-end onboarding and project execution for our portfolio of healthcare customers leading the successful implementation of VPL’s solutions, while acting as a strategic liaison between Sales, Account Management, Finance, Product, and our customers—including their third-party vendors.
This role requires strong people management, project management, and relationship management skills. You’ll be responsible for ensuring internal and external stakeholders are aligned, meeting milestones efficiently and with a high degree of quality, all while delivering an exceptional customer experience. You’ll also be responsible for fostering and growing a highly effective and engaged Implementation and Project Management team. This position is open to candidates located in the United States, except for California, Washington, Oregon, New York, + Colorado
What You’ll Do
- Provide oversight and leadership to a team of veteran implementation professionals setting team objectives and individual performance goals and regularly evaluating both
- Continuously evaluate and improve VPL’s implementation methodologies; identifying and implementing strategic enhancements to the Implementation team’s processes and practices, as needed
- Leverage software tools to develop and automate reporting and dashboards that provide the VPL organization visibility into the team’s project portfolio including project statuses, risks, and the backlog being prioritized
- Lead the full lifecycle of customer implementations - from sales handoff to go-live - and ensure a smooth transition to Account Management
- Manage project scope, budget, resources, and timelines across multiple concurrent implementations
- Build trusted advisor relationships and lead cross-functional project teams; foster accountability and clarity around project roles and deliverables throughout the implementation process
- Build and execute project plans, ensuring projects’ goals align with both customer needs and VPL strategic objectives
- Proactively identify and mitigate risks; resolve issues that arise throughout the implementation with thoughtful problem-solving and collaboration
- Support training and knowledge-sharing initiatives to propagate best practices across the organization
- Represent VPL in customer-facing meetings, both virtual and in-person, as needed
What You’ll Bring
- A passion for developing direct reports and helping them reach their professional goals
- Proven ability to build cohesive and highly effective teams
- Prior work-related experience including working with or in pharmacies
- 3-5 years’ experience leading direct reports
- 3-5 years’ experience managing external-facing customer projects and/or implementations, specifically with web-based software products; experience with software integration (e.g., API, Webhook, FHIR, etc.) and EDI projects, desired
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Success delivering outcomes both as an individual and as the member of a team
- The ability to learn and assimilate new information quickly; flexibility to adjust in a dynamic work environment
- The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work within fixed deadlines
- A commitment to consultative collaboration and the ability to foster trusting customer relationships and influence decisions towards customer value
- Attention to detail, outstanding organizational skills, and excellent follow through
- The ability to engage with a diverse group of people across all levels of an organization
- Proficiency using web-based software productivity tools like Jira and Salesforce
