Summary

We are looking for a compassionate and clinically expert Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in New Jersey. As an essential member of our clinical staff, you will manage the vital intersection of acute medical stabilization and early therapeutic engagement within our detox and short-term residential facility. This is a high-impact role requiring exceptional vigilance, clinical precision, and a deep commitment to providing non-judgmental, patient-centered care during a patient's most vulnerable phase.

Scheduling Availability

  • 7PM-7AM: Saturday-Tuesday or Sunday-Monday

Responsibilities:

  • Acute Care Management: Expertly manage and monitor patients undergoing acute withdrawal using established protocols (CIWA/COWS). Administer and precisely monitor Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) protocols.
  • Assessment & Safety: Conduct comprehensive physical, mental health, and Substance Use Disorder (SUD) history assessments upon admission and throughout the stay, including rigorous safety and contraband checks.
  • Medication Administration: Accurately administer and document all medications, monitoring for side effects and therapeutic effectiveness.
  • Crisis & Safety Interventions: Utilize strong skills in behavioral de-escalation and crisis intervention. Provide immediate response for medical emergencies, including Naloxone administration and overdose prevention education.
  • Collaboration: Actively collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, and case managers to develop, implement, and adjust individualized, interdisciplinary care plans.
  • Patient Education: Deliver crucial, therapeutic education to patients on topics including SUD basics, relapse prevention, harm reduction, and preparing for aftercare.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation in the electronic health record.
  • Co-Occurring Conditions: Vigilantly recognize, assess, and report signs of co-occurring medical and mental health conditions.

Qualifications:

  • Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license to practice in the state of New Jersey.
  • Prior experience (1+ year) working in a substance abuse treatment, detoxification, or behavioral health setting.
  • Strong working knowledge of addiction medicine principles, withdrawal syndromes, and clinical treatment protocols.
  • Exceptional clinical assessment skills, clear communication, and a proven ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Skilled in both medical and behavioral de-escalation/crisis protocols.
  • Proven proficiency in managing the medical aspects of detox and early recovery.
