Sun River Health is a Federally Qualified, Non-Profit Health Center serving communities in Suffolk, Rockland, Orange, Dutchess, Ulster, Sullivan, Columbia, and Westchester County. Sun River Health is seeking a full-time Engagement Specialist for the Call Center Behavioral Health department.

Summary:

Engagement Specialist of Call Center Behavioral Health is responsible for proactive and assertive outreach to behavioral health patients who are lost to care or at risk of disengagement. This role delivers patient-centered support by managing high-volume inbound and outbound calls, coordinating appointments, and ensuring smooth access to behavioral health services. The specialist communicates effectively with a diverse patient population using strong interpersonal and customer service skills, while adhering to organizational and job-specific standards. The position is primarily remote and supports Sun River Health’s mission to improve access to care for underserved communities.

Job Type: Full-Time

Pay Range: $21.00 - $24.35 per hour

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct outreach to behavioral health patients who are lost to care or at risk of disengagement
  • Manage inbound and outbound telephone calls efficiently and professionally
  • Schedule, route, and manage patient appointments appropriately
  • Provide accurate information and facilitate access to services in a patient-centered manner
  • Communicate effectively with diverse populations using English and Spanish
  • Maintain compliance with organizational policies, quality standards, and confidentiality requirements

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred)
  • Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills
  • Ability to make accurate, time-sensitive decisions in a fast-paced environment
