Position Objective

Lead daily operations within the Picking Department to ensure accurate and timely picking processes with maximum efficiency. Provide coaching assistance to the picking team members while maintaining all company policies and procedures. Tracks KPI’s of team while identifying opportunities for improvements. Work cross-functionally to ensure all internal and external customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assists Logistics Manager and inventory specialist with development, implementation and maintenance of policies and procedures; ensures all established policies and procedures are followed by warehouse team.
  • Train, motivate, coach, reward, and discipline picking team members under supervision of the management team.
  • Coordinates with the logistics manager to manage personnel issues and requests.
  • Performs order releases in Oracle, prioritizes based on urgency and need by date.
  • Lead team in orders fulfillment in both stand and value add orders and/or performing other duties as necessary.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of all warehouse operations.
  • Maintains safety programs and all required safety training for the team.
  • Trained in all areas of warehouse operations and is a back-up to other warehouse lead roles when necessary.
  • Develop and oversee all KPI’s within the picking area.
  • Research/identify root cause for all errors that affect picking department and recommend/implement changes to ensure the errors do not continue.
  • Ability to work and manage independently or in a team environment.
  • Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have the ability to manage multiple tasks daily.
  • Able to stand in front of team and disseminate pertinent information.

  • Monitors headcount ensuring we have the correct amount of people for available work.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Two to four years related leadership experience.
  • Knowledge of warehouse operations best practices.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in supervising and motivating subordinates.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to perform the physical labor necessary.
  • Forklift certified or able to become forklift certified.
  • Strong knowledge in Microsoft Word, Power Point and Excel.
  • Ability to create formulas, charts and pivot tables in Excel.
  • Prior experience in Oracle a plus, though not required.
  • Trained and/or overseen new staff members in a warehouse setting.
  • Performed quality audits.
  • Have conducted team meetings outlining imperative information to the department.
  • Must be able to devise own solutions to difficult issues that may arise.
  • Knowledge of bin location system.
  • Researched transaction history to solve issues and answer questions.
  • Experience leading a team of 5 or more employees.
