Operations Consultant

Position overview:
At the direction of the Operations Manager or Vice President of Operations, the successful candidate will be responsible for performing and ensuring successful completion of SDI site-based KPI projects to improve overall day to day operations. This includes (but not limited to) inventory control, receiving & recovery, KPI achievement, prospective site assessments, client and SDI site resource training, new site implementations and overall operational productivity. Providing direct support to SDI’s key customers, this position is a regular, frequent point of contact with the client and requires a strong, effective customer service capability.
A typical day in the life of an Operations Consultant:
As a subject matter expert in SDI storeroom operational procedures (SOP’s), the Operations Consultant is responsible for driving special projects to completion where applicable. This includes (but not limited to)
- Effectively deliver incremental, revenue generating projects for existing clients.
- Lead and conduct physical inventories as required to meet compliance schedule requirements.
- Resolve Match Exception errors, including, but not limited to determining root-cause analysis and resolution (i.e. interacting with internal departments as well as client and supplier representatives).
- Analyze client stocking levels and recommend appropriate changes.
- Analyze root cause on prior stock outs and develop corrective action plans.
- Inventory recovery and addition to storeroom.
- Revise, train/re-train existing sites in SOP’s to achieve KPI’s as necessary.
- Perform other duties assigned.
- Maybe required to travel to alternate SDI client sites on interim Field Operations assignments.
The skills you will contribute to our diverse team:
- Bachelor’s degree required, or Technical degree with requisite work experience in-lieu of college degree.
- 5 or more years in a leadership role of hourly/clerical workers, in a service industry required; serving industrial or commercial markets preferred.
- Client facing experience is a must.
- This is a remote position with minimal to no travel
- Must be able to work autonomously; motivated self-starter with strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.
- Demonstrated team player with strong communication and collaboration skills with ability to influence without formal authority.
- Results and process-oriented; strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Hands on manager with willingness to act as a player/coach.
- Strong knowledge of basic manufacturing processes.
- Project management background preferred.
- Experience working with trades in a maintenance or repair environment preferred.
- Demonstrated ability of excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- MS Office software skills and experience with ERP software.

The pay range for this position is $55,000 - $65,000 annually. Individual pay depends on various factors, such as role level, relevant experience and skills, and location. Pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year. Offers are made within the pay range applicable at the time.
