Operations Manager

Position overview:
The Operations Manager is responsible for day-to-day client satisfaction, delivery of SDI’s value proposition, and fulfillment of all contractual obligations for assigned program accounts. These accounts are typically multi-site, complex, and strategically important to SDI. The Operations Manager serves as the primary client interface and advocate, ensuring operational excellence while acting as a strategic business partner.
This role requires strong expertise in procurement, digital supply chain, inventory management, and operations. The Operations Manager leads cross-functional execution, oversees performance management programs, and presents KPIs, milestones, and service results to client leadership. They must be a credible subject matter expert who delivers best-in-class service across all client locations.
The Operations Manager will monitor site-level KPIs, resolve transactional issues, drive continuous improvement, and manage delivery to service-level agreements. They will also collaborate across SDI’s matrixed organization (engineering, sourcing, procurement, HR, finance, and IT) to meet revenue, expense, and profit goals. Project management skills are essential to support initiatives across multiple sites. Up to 10% travel is required for this role.
A typical day in the life of an Operations Manager:

Leverage digital supply chain technologies (eCommerce integrations, analytics tools, inventory tracking, automation solutions, etc.) to enhance client visibility and performance.

Lead and influence across client teams and internal SDI functions; communicate clearly and operate with autonomy and professionalism.

Execute client delivery strategies (inventory management, procurement, reporting, continuous improvement) using established metrics and KPIs.

Deliver revenue, expense, and profit results; identify new opportunities (e.g., engineering services, POU technologies); approve site expenses.

Lead performance management programs and ensure adoption at all client sites.

Define and implement processes, tools, and protocols that enhance effectiveness and efficiency across all site activities.

Partner with sourcing, procurement, finance, and other functions to meet business objectives, resolve issues, and support growth opportunities.

Apply lean/continuous improvement methodology, data analysis, SOPs, and new technologies to deliver operational best practices.

Work with senior leadership to build and support a high-performing client-facing team; act as the liaison between site teams and SDI headquarters.
The skills you’ll contribute to our diverse team:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.

Strong data analysis skills; advanced proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word; ability to create full end-to-end client presentations

Working knowledge of the full procure-to-pay cycle in SAP or similar ERP.

3+ years’ experience in Integrated Supply or related fields (Logistics, Distribution, Supply Chain).

5+ years of client management experience, including sourcing and inventory control of indirect materials.

Experience implementing and leveraging modern digital supply technologies (eCommerce integrations, analytics tools, inventory tracking, automation, etc.).

Demonstrated leadership, strong communication skills, and ability to influence.

Hands-on, proactive manager with strong organizational and time-management skills.

Ability to operate autonomously with professionalism; strong executive presence and presentation skills.

The pay range for this bonus-eligible role is $115,000 - $125,000 annually. Individual pay depends on various factors, such as role level, relevant experience and skills, and location. Pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year. Offers are made within the pay range applicable at the time.
