As we continue to grow, we are excited to introduce a brand-new leadership role within the firm: Director of Information Technology.
This is a unique opportunity to establish and lead Soltis’ IT function, developing a long-term technology vision that supports the firm’s operational excellence, client experience, and regulatory compliance. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping IT strategy, building scalable systems, and ensuring our infrastructure, cybersecurity, and technology solutions meet the needs of a dynamic financial services firm.
Position Summary
The Director of IT will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the firm’s technology strategy and infrastructure. This individual will oversee IT operations, cybersecurity, vendor management, and system integrations to ensure the security, efficiency, and reliability of our platforms. We are hiring for one position in Utah, which may be located in our Salt Lake City, Lehi, or St. George office.
The ideal candidate is a strategic technology leader with experience in financial services or highly regulated industries, who can balance hands-on IT management with high-level planning and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and lead Soltis’ IT function, ensuring alignment with business goals and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee IT operations, including systems administration, cybersecurity, help desk support, and disaster recovery planning.
- Partner with leadership to identify and implement technology solutions that improve business efficiency and client service delivery.
- Manage third-party IT vendors, contracts, and relationships to ensure cost-effective and high-quality service.
- Establish and maintain cybersecurity policies, monitoring systems, and response protocols to protect sensitive client and firm data.
- Implement system integrations between core platforms (CRM, financial planning software, reporting tools, HR/payroll systems, etc.).
- Develop IT policies, governance, and compliance frameworks to meet industry and regulatory standards.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to IT staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
- Develop and manage the IT budget, including forecasting, cost modeling, and vendor contract optimization.
- Own delivery of complex IT projects and integrations, ensuring completion on time, within scope, and on budget.
- Guide the transition of IT assets to cloud-based solutions while maintaining secure, reliable infrastructure.
- Execute a long-term IT strategy aligned with business goals, while mentoring IT staff and collaborating with firm leadership.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 8+ years of progressive IT leadership experience, including at least 3 years in a director or senior manager role.
- Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, networking, cybersecurity, and enterprise systems.
- Proven experience in IT strategy, vendor management, and project implementation.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate across business units.
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience in financial services, wealth management, or another regulated industry.
- Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, PMP, or ITIL.
