As we continue to grow, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Data Center Site Manager to join our team and drive our relationships with hyperscale clients to new heights.

Position Summary

The Data Center Site Manager leads all onsite Salute operations and personnel to ensure the safe and reliable performance of electrical, mechanical, and life safety systems. Serving as the primary point of contact to the client, the Site Manager leads a team of technical experts who support all aspects of facility operations and maintenance. The role maintains close coordination through daily collaboration and routine meetings with the client’s leadership team and is accountable for maintenance execution, incident response, team development, and continuous operational improvement across all shifts.

Responsibilities

Leadership and Team Management

· Lead, mentor, and develop a team of onsite technical experts and facility personnel to ensure consistent, high-quality performance across all shifts.

· Drive a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement aligned with Salute’s values and operational standards.

· Plan and manage staffing, shift coverage, and personnel development in coordination with the Regional Director and Human Resources.

· Conduct regular one-on-one and team meetings to support alignment, growth, and engagement.

· Collaborate closely with internal departments (HR, Safety, Finance, Training) to ensure compliance with policies and standards.

· Analyze operational performance and initiate corrective actions to maintain stability and efficiency.

Client Partnership and Communication

· Serve as the primary onsite point of contact to the client, leading daily coordination and ensuring proactive communication on all operational matters.

· Conduct daily status updates and routine meetings with client stakeholders to review maintenance progress, incidents, and upcoming work.

· Deliver weekly summary reports capturing site performance, key metrics, and issue resolution status.

· Build and maintain strong relationships with client leadership, ensuring transparency and alignment on priorities and deliverables.

· Represent Salute professionally during client discussions, audits, and executive reviews.

· Partner with Salute regional leadership to escalate concerns, share performance data, and align on continuous improvement goals.

Operational Oversight

· Oversee all electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety systems to ensure peak operational performance and compliance.

· Manage preventive and corrective maintenance programs, ensuring quality execution and minimal disruption to operations.

· Coordinate and oversee third-party vendors, ensuring safety compliance and adherence to service expectations.

· Maintain detailed documentation and work order tracking through the site’s maintenance management systems.

· Review drawings and perform site surveys to identify mechanical, electrical, and control systems and facility operational characteristics.

· Support and manage the creation, review, and execution of MOPs, SOPs, and EOPs to ensure operational excellence and safety compliance.

· Lead or participate in the periodic audits of maintenance and operational procedures, ensuring accuracy and alignment with best practices.

· Manage multiple complex projects simultaneously and provide technical guidance to ensure successful outcomes.

· Interpret technical documentation (AutoCAD, Visio, and related project materials) and propose practical solutions to operational challenges.

Compliance, Safety, and Financial Management

· Enforce adherence to Salute and client safety standards and participate in regular safety audits and training programs.

· Ensure timely completion of required compliance documentation, permits, and inspection reports.

· Manage site-level budgets, expenses, and resource utilization in collaboration with the Regional Director.

· Partner with internal finance and procurement teams to review contracts, vendor performance, and invoicing accuracy.

· Support cost estimation and resource planning for client installations or capital improvement projects.

Qualifications

· Minimum of 8–10 years of total experience in data center operations, facilities management, or mission-critical infrastructure, including at least 3 years of proven success as a Data Center Manager or equivalent leadership role.

· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field preferred.

· Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams supporting electrical, mechanical, and life-safety systems in 24/7 critical environments.

· Deep technical understanding of data center infrastructure, including UPS systems, generators, chillers, switchgear, and control systems.

· Strong background in vendor management, change control, maintenance planning, and incident response.

· Skilled in developing and presenting operational reports, performance metrics, and improvement plans to both technical and executive audiences.

· Adept at collaborating with clients, contractors, and cross-functional internal teams to achieve aligned goals.

· High attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and ability to perform under pressure.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office and maintenance management systems for documentation and analysis.

· Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, stoop, kneel, and lift or move up to 50 pounds while following all safety standards and wearing required protective equipment.
