As we continue to grow, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Data Center Facilities Technician to join our team and drive our relationships with hyperscale clients to new heights.
Data Center Facilities Technician:
- Site Assessment & Planning
- Review procurement practices, tool and equipment use, storage, inventory, and vehicle maintenance.
- Assess current processes to identify gaps or areas for improvement.
- Develop action plans to address issues and enhance efficiency, safety, and accountability.
- Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with team members, client staff, vendors, and overseeing agencies to coordinate tasks and ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.
- Network with site personnel to share information, resolve challenges, and align on goals.
- Operations & Maintenance
- Implement and monitor preventative maintenance (PM) schedules for tools, equipment, and vehicles.
- Make or facilitate repairs as needed, working with vendors or client teams.
- Stay flexible and adapt to changing site requirements, timelines, budgets, and space limitations.
- Resource Management
- Provide plans, cost estimates, and supply information to support ongoing and future projects.
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure proper storage of tools, equipment, and supplies to maintain organization and accountability.
- Problem Solving & Critical Thinking
- Evaluate challenges related to safety, space, or resources and apply creative solutions to maintain workflow and meet deadlines.
- Technology & Documentation
- Use applications and tools, logging times
- Track and maintain records of maintenance activities, inventory updates, and completed tasks.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assess site for procurement practices, use, storage, inventory and maintenance of tools, equipment, supplies and vehicles.
- Develop action plan for addressing identified issues.
- Work collaboratively with all team members to improve efficiency, time management, fiscal responsibility, and accountability for Client owned items.
- Being prepared for rapidly changing tasks is often influenced by timelines, space restrictions, safety concerns, or any number of factors.
- Implement preventative maintenance (PM) plans for site equipment and tools.
- Coordinating with Client team members, vendors and overseeing agencies to ensure appropriate or mandated steps are followed for compliance and team member safety.
- Make or facilitate repairs on tools and equipment.
- Work with Client team members or vendors as needed.
- Adapt to site changes and needs as necessary.
- Provide plans, estimates, and supply information as needed.
- Network with all site personnel to accomplish tasks.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are utilized regularly to overcome challenges.
- Utilize several applications, programs, devices, and tools to accomplish tasks.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment, up to 40lbs.
- Ability to climb ladders and multiple flights of stairs to access elevated equipment
- Ability to stand for long periods of time in various work environments
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach for equipment related tasks
- Basic physical fitness to respond quickly to emergency situations and navigate areas quickly
- Ability to move quickly and efficiently withing various work environments to troubleshoot issues or respond to emergencies.
- Good hand-eye coordination and dexterity for working with small components and connectors
- Clear vision, with or without correction, to perform tasks requiring attention to detail and precision while wearing safety glasses
- Ability to differentiate between color-coded warning signs, labels, and cables
- Ability to work in environments with a wide variety temperature inside a facility
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme temperatures, rain, or snow
- Capability to work in environments with elevated noise levels while wearing hearing protection
- Possession of a valid driver’s license for work-related travel, as required
