As a Data Center Assistant Team Lead, you’ll be the boots-on-the-ground leader, responsible for managing day-to-day operations, leading high-performing teams, and ensuring the delivery of secure, reliable, and scalable infrastructure support in a mission-critical environment.
This role is perfect for someone who thrives in dynamic settings, leads by example, and is passionate about developing people while maintaining operational excellence.
This will be a hybrid role, and candidates should live within commuting distance of Munich, Hamburg, Frankfurt, Dusseldorf and Berlin
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Oversight: Ensure the timely and proper execution of activities for the datacenter’s equipment, adhering to all applicable processes and procedures.
- Team Management: Manage working schedules for junior engineers, ensuring adequate coverage and shift balance.
- Procedure Development: Develop, implement, and enforce operational procedures for NOC operators to enhance efficiency and compliance.
- Documentation: Maintain and organize all documentation related to the team’s roles and responsibilities.
- Training: Provide, oversee, and track training programs to ensure the continuous development of junior engineers.
- Incident Reporting: Monitor and report incidents following established protocols and standards.
- Communication: Keep local management informed about activities, incidents, and significant updates.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work effectively with internal teams, stakeholders, and datacenter management to align on goals and priorities.
- Performance Management: Conduct regular documented one-on-one meetings with team members to set, monitor, and track goals.
- Emergency Coverage: Be available to cover shifts during emergencies if required.
Requirements:
- Experience: Proven work experience in a datacenter or other critical environment.
- Leadership: Demonstrated management experience, preferably with distributed or shift-based teams.
- Shift Flexibility: Availability to work shifts as a backup in emergencies.
- Skills: Strong organizational and communication skills (written and oral) in both German and English.
- Technical Aptitude: Willingness to learn datacenter technical principles and operations.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook.
- Interpersonal Skills: A team-oriented mindset with excellent interpersonal and mentoring abilities
