Data Center Junior Engineer

As we continue to grow, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced oriented Data Center Junior Engineer to join our team and drive our relationships with hyperscale clients to new heights. You will assist in maintaining optimal environmental conditions, supporting mechanical and electrical systems, and ensuring operational continuity.
Key Responsibilities:
Facility Operations
- Monitor environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, airflow, power usage) to ensure optimal performance.
- Assist in preventative maintenance and repairs of infrastructure systems (HVAC, UPS, PDUs, generators, fire suppression).
- Respond to alarms and outages, support root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain compliance with safety protocols and industry standards.
- Document maintenance activities, incidents, and system performance metrics.
Mechanical Systems Support
- Support maintenance of cooling systems (CRAC/CRAH units, chillers, cooling towers).
- Assist with HVAC system operations and environmental control adjustments.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on mechanical systems.
- Participate in system upgrades and efficiency improvement initiatives.
Electrical Systems Support
- Assist in managing power systems (UPS, generators, switchgear, PDUs).
- Support troubleshooting and repair of electrical issues.
- Monitor electrical loads and ensure balanced power distribution.
- Follow safety procedures including lockout/tagout and arc flash protection.
- Perform daily inspections and readings of electrical equipment.
Collaboration and Development
- Work closely with facility managers and cross-functional teams.
- Participate in training to expand technical knowledge and operational skills.
- Provide input on process improvements and operational efficiencies.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical certifications or associate degree in Engineering, HVAC, or related field preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in data center operations, facilities, or a related technical field.
Technical Skills
- Basic understanding of electrical systems, HVAC, and building management systems (BMS).
- Familiarity with data center infrastructure and maintenance practices.
- Data center certifications (e.g., CDCTP) are a plus.
Soft Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment, up to 40lbs.
- Ability to climb ladders and multiple flights of stairs to access elevated equipment
- Ability to stand for long periods of time in various work environments
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach for equipment related tasks
- Basic physical fitness to respond quickly to emergency situations and navigate areas quickly
- Ability to move quickly and efficiently withing various work environments to troubleshoot issues or respond to emergencies.
- Good hand-eye coordination and dexterity for working with small components and connectors
- Clear vision, with or without correction, to perform tasks requiring attention to detail and precision while wearing safety glasses
- Ability to differentiate between color-coded warning signs, labels, and cables
- Ability to work in environments with a wide variety temperature inside a facility
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme temperatures, rain, or snow
- Capability to work in environments with elevated noise levels while wearing hearing protection
- Possession of a valid driver’s license for work-related travel, as required
