EHS Manager:
The onsite Environmental, Health and Safety Manager will be responsible for overseeing all EHS functions for a newly built hyperscale data center within a campus setting in Ellendale ND. The EHS Manager will establish and implement site specific safety plans, policies and procedures to protect the safety and health of employees, customers, contractors and visitors to the data center campus as well as the facilities and equipment on campus. Additionally, they will oversee sustainability initiatives and will ensure proper reporting of those programs, while promoting an overall culture of safety across the campus.
Salary: $104,644.80-$112,465.60 USD/yr + 10% annual bonus
Hours: Monday- Friday 8am-5pm

Primary Duties of the EHS Manager will encompass responsibilities below:
- Develop, implement and update site specific Safety Plans
- Develop, implement and update site specific Emergency Action Plans
- Develop and implement site safety training plans and provide training to all data center staff with continual assessment of training effectiveness
- Develop site specific safety orientation for all contractors and visitors to the data center
- Schedule and Conduct site safety audits and inspections to identify hazards in the workplace
- Schedule and Conduct Emergency Action Plan Drills to ensure preparedness and compliance
- Complete comprehensive reports of audit and inspection, including corrective action plans to ensure compliance and mitigations
- Establish and lead the site Safety Committee
- Establish the site Safety Champions program
- Establish the site First Responder team and training requirements for the team
- Investigate and analyze work‐related incidents, accidents, injuries, illnesses, near misses and implement measures to prevent recurrence
- Analyze job and activity EHS risk scenarios to determine their potential impact. Ensure that all Job and Task Hazard Analysis is completed prior to start of work assignments to mitigate hazards
- Support EHS submissions for customer SOQs and RFQs
- Reviews General Contractor Project-Specific Safety Plans for compliance with customer requirements, OSHA, NFPA and EPA standards
- First point of contact for incident escalation in the event of a safety incident in the Data Center; supports and advises data center leadership, client and Salute VO of Global EHS during incident investigations and root cause analyses
- Maintain environmental permits/programs to ensure compliance with all applicable agencies
- Track universal waste recycling
- Provide monthly, quarterly, and annual sustainability reporting to the site manager and customer as required
- Maintain frequent interaction with VP of Global EHS, Data Center management, representatives of federal and state agencies and other safety professionals
- All other EHS duties and initiatives as assigned
Additional Accountabilities:
- Track training compliance for Data Center staff completion of 100% for required safety training, 3rd party safety instruction and manage database of all required safety certifications
- Maintain 100% adherence to Salute safety culture and best safety practices
- Adhere to Behavioral Based Safety practices
- Ensure adherence to all safety policies and procedures and required
Required Qualifications, Skills, and Experience for Success for varied Client Scope of Work:
- Associate’s degree in occupational safety and Health REQUIRED
- 3-5 years of Safety Management Experience
- Experience creating site specific safety plans that encompass all OSHA requirements
- Experience creating Emergency Action Plans following NFPA 1600 guidelines
- Experience with Safety Management Systems which track incident safety metrics
- Experience compiling and managing key EHS performance indicators
- Experience with Workers Compensation Claims and Case Management
- Experience with Universal Waste Management
- Experience with commercial building operations
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Experience working in a team environment but comfortable working alone with little direction
- Experience working independently and within a group, excellent time management, strategic planning and ability to pivot between competing priorities and situations
- Experience building and fostering a Culture of Safety within an organization
- Strong working knowledge of NFPA 70E and LOTO program requirements
- Strong working knowledge in federal, state, and local EPA, OSHA and NFPA regulations
- Strong working knowledge of Incident investigation, Root Cause Analysis, Corrective actions
- Strong working knowledge of Behavior Based Safety practices
- Familiarity with Construction Safety and Net Zero Waste concepts and program initiatives
- Proof of Safety Certification from BCSP, NASP or an affiliated College Certification program
- Proof of OSHA 30 Hour General or Construction Industry Training
- Proficient with Microsoft Applications
Preferred Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety and health or a field with a concentration in safety
- Experience in change management principles
- Experience in of datacenter safety management
- Military Veteran or Retiree
Job Hazard Assessment Mitigation Awareness:
- Proficiency in conducting Job Hazard Analysis for all job functions within a facility
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment, up to 40lbs.
- Ability to climb ladders and multiple flights of stairs to access elevated equipment
- Ability to stand for long periods of time in various work environments
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach for equipment related tasks
- Basic physical fitness to respond quickly to emergency situations and navigate areas quickly
- Ability to move quickly and efficiently withing various work environments to troubleshoot issues or respond to emergencies.
- Good hand-eye coordination and dexterity for working with small components and connectors
- Clear vision, with or without correction, to perform tasks requiring attention to detail and precision while wearing safety glasses
- Ability to differentiate between color-coded warning signs, labels, and cables
- Ability to work in environments with a wide variety temperature inside a facility
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme temperatures, rain, or snow
- Capability to work in environments with elevated noise levels while wearing hearing protection
- Possession of a valid driver’s license for work-related travel, as required
