Our team thrives on innovation and precision, and we are looking for a skilled Technical Document Writer to help us standardize, streamline, and communicate our processes effectively.

As a Technical Document Writer, you will be responsible for creating, revising, and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Emergency Operating Procedures (EOP), and other critical documentation for our data center operations. You will work closely with engineering, operations, and compliance teams to translate complex technical processes into clear, user-friendly documentation, ensuring that all documentation aligns with industry standards and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, update, and maintain SOPs, EOPs, and other operational documentation for data center facilities, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and consistency.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs), including engineers, operators, and compliance officers, to gather detailed information on data center processes and procedures.
  • Ensure all documentation adheres to company standards, regulatory requirements, and data center industry best practices.
  • Create easy-to-follow documentation layouts with appropriate formatting, style, and visual aids (e.g., diagrams, flowcharts) to enhance usability.
  • Conduct periodic reviews of documentation to ensure it remains up-to-date with current procedures, technology, and compliance standards.
  • Provide support for training initiatives by developing instructional content and materials based on SOP/EOP documentation.
  • Implement version control and manage the document lifecycle, maintaining an organized repository for easy access by relevant personnel.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and work with operations teams to streamline and clarify procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, Communications, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in technical writing, with a focus on SOP/EOP documentation for data centers or other critical infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in documentation tools such as Microsoft Word, Confluence, SharePoint, or equivalent platforms.
  • Strong understanding of data center operations, critical infrastructure, and IT systems.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with a meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to translate technical jargon into clear, concise language for a diverse audience.
  • Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., Uptime Institute, TIA-942) and compliance requirements relevant to data center operations.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working within data centers, colocation facilities, or IT infrastructure environments.
  • Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
  • Basic knowledge of emergency protocols and safety procedures for critical facilities.
