Hours: Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm CST
Pay: $32-$35/hr
Job Description: Data Center Facilities Technician Level II (Mechanical or Electrical)
The Data Center Facilities Technician Level II plays a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our client’s facility by overseeing technical maintenance, managing the infrastructure maintenance program, and prioritizing sustainability initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform comprehensive maintenance tasks, troubleshoot issues, and ensure timely completion of work orders.
• Schedule maintenance services according to business needs communicated by the client, including adherence to the comprehensive infrastructure maintenance program.
• Ensure resources are adequate to meet service level agreement (SLA) targets.
• Ensure all maintenance services comply with the client's policies, safety requirements, and industry regulations.
• Possess the necessary qualifications and certifications for their assigned tasks, particularly in electrical works.
• Promptly notify the client Project Manager of any anticipated challenges in meeting SLA targets.
• Develop, implement, and enhance the facility's maintenance program in collaboration with the client.
• Monitor building and power systems, safety equipment, and infrastructure conditions, reporting deviations from normal operation.
• Conduct periodic facility inspections and analyze operational data to identify trends and optimize maintenance schedules.
• Respond to emergency efforts at the facility, providing first aid, utilizing safety equipment, and managing hazardous substances as necessary.
• Trained and equipped to respond effectively to medical emergencies and incidental hazardous releases.
• Perform ongoing preventative maintenance to uphold equipment warranty and ensure long-term operational efficiency.
• Adhere to the maintenance program and coordinate preventative maintenance with the client or third-party vendors.
• Maintain preventive maintenance schedules, generate work orders, and manage maintenance-related documentation in the client's Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Coordinate parts purchasing and invoice support for maintenance activities and collaborate with third-party vendors for system maintenance and repairs.
• Generate weekly reports outlining services performed and infrastructure maintenance activities.
Qualifications:
• Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical or electrical and industrial maintenance within a commercial or industrial setting.
• Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage resources effectively, and adapt to changing priorities.
• Proficiency in computerized maintenance management systems and Microsoft and Google Applications.
• Proven experience in maintenance operations in a commercial or industrial facility, with a focus on HVAC or Electrical systems.
• Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, or HVAC experience with a proficiency in handling refrigerants.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment, up to 40lbs.
- Ability to climb ladders and multiple flights of stairs to access elevated equipment
- Ability to stand for long periods of time in various work environments
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach for equipment related tasks
- Basic physical fitness to respond quickly to emergency situations and navigate areas quickly
- Ability to move quickly and efficiently withing various work environments to troubleshoot issues or respond to emergencies.
- Good hand-eye coordination and dexterity for working with small components and connectors
- Clear vision, with or without correction, to perform tasks requiring attention to detail and precision while wearing safety glasses
- Ability to differentiate between color-coded warning signs, labels, and cables
- Ability to work in environments with a wide variety temperature inside a facility
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme temperatures, rain, or snow
- Capability to work in environments with elevated noise levels while wearing hearing protection
- Possession of a valid driver’s license for work-related travel, as required
