Technical Director
IT · Full-time
Horley, UK
Salute is a Global Leader in Data Center services, providing operational, technical and advisory services to data centres around the world. With an established presence in the United States and continued growth across EMEA. This is an exciting time to join the team as we step up operations in new countries and commence work on new and challenging projects. As a result of this growth, we are looking to recruit a Technical Director.
The role:
We are looking for a Technical Director to lead electrical and high voltage (HV) technical due diligence across our design and consultancy projects. You will strengthen our QA/QC process, support design management and give our sales team the technical input they need to win work.
This is a new senior role. It adds depth to our HV review capability and gives us flexibility to cover design management across a strong project pipeline.
What you will do:
- Technical due diligence: Carry out electrical and HV due diligence on design and consultancy projects, including large pipeline schemes. Provide technical review and sign-off so delivery teams and customers can rely on the design.
- Quality assurance: Review electrical and HV design outputs as part of our QA/QC process. Record findings, track close-out and feed recurring issues back to design teams to protect quality, cost, safety and programme.
- Project delivery: Lead technical review on a live data centre construction support contract, expected to take around three days a week at the start. Support other live projects as capacity allows.
- Design management and team leadership: Coordinate multi-discipline design delivery. Coach and guide design teams, and cover design management where needed, reducing our reliance on contracted resource.
- Sales and tender support: Advise sales during tender bids and help scope compliant, clearly defined fee proposals.
What you will bring:
- An engineering degree (BSc, BEng, MEng) or equivalent, or a BTEC/HND in an engineering discipline with demonstrable experience.
- Relevant experience in building services design, with strong electrical and HV knowledge.
- Data centre or critical facilities design experience is desirable.
- Project, site or work package management experience is an advantage.
- Professional registration or institute membership is an advantage.
The role is a full-time position, and your base salary will be commensurate with experience but is expected to be highly competitive. The opportunity is located in the Gatwick and will include business travel as needed to meet business demands but will likely be nominal.
Here, at Salute, we value our people and take great pride in providing not just a job but fantastic career opportunities.
In addition to the opportunity to work in a great team and earn a competitive salary - you'll gain access to cutting-edge industry training that aims to enhance your skills and support your future development. Not only will you receive valuable on the job and structured training in your current role, but for those who are ambitious and motivated, the possibilities are endless.
