Position Summary
The Physical Security Operations Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, operational performance, and strategic direction of multiple physical security programs and client locations. This role provides direct oversight of Project Managers, Site Managers, and Security Leadership personnel to ensure all assigned sites operate efficiently, remain compliant, meet contractual obligations, and deliver exceptional client service.
The Operations Manager serves as the senior operational leader for assigned accounts and is responsible for workforce management, client satisfaction, financial performance, regulatory compliance, leadership development, and operational excellence. This position plays a critical role in supporting company growth, client retention, and the successful execution of security operations across multiple locations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Provide strategic oversight of multiple security programs, facilities, and client accounts.
- Ensure assigned sites consistently meet operational, contractual, and performance objectives.
- Establish operational priorities and ensure alignment with company goals and client expectations.
- Monitor operational effectiveness, staffing levels, productivity, and service delivery across all assigned locations.
- Conduct regular business reviews, site assessments, and operational audits.
- Identify operational risks and implement corrective action plans as necessary.
- Ensure continuity of operations during site expansions, transitions, emergencies, and critical incidents.
Leadership and Team Development
- Directly supervise Project Managers, Security Managers, and other operational leaders.
- Provide coaching, mentorship, and performance management to leadership teams.
- Develop succession plans and leadership development programs for future growth.
- Foster a culture of accountability, professionalism, and operational excellence.
- Support recruitment, retention, and workforce planning initiatives.
- Partner with Human Resources on employee relations, investigations, disciplinary actions, and performance improvement plans.
Client Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary operational contact for executive-level client stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships through consistent engagement and communication.
- Lead client business reviews, operational meetings, and performance discussions.
- Ensure all contractual obligations, service level agreements, and client requirements are met or exceeded.
- Resolve escalated client concerns and implement solutions to improve service delivery.
- Identify opportunities for contract growth, service enhancements, and operational efficiencies.
Financial Management
- Maintain responsibility for the financial performance of assigned accounts and programs.
- Develop and manage operational budgets.
- Monitor labor utilization, overtime, staffing expenses, and operational costs.
- Review financial reports and key performance indicators to ensure profitability targets are achieved.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining service quality and operational effectiveness.
- Support contract pricing, staffing models, and business development initiatives.
Compliance and Quality Assurance
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, state licensing requirements, regulatory standards, and client-specific requirements.
- Oversee quality assurance programs and operational audits.
- Ensure all personnel maintain required certifications, licenses, and training.
- Monitor incident reporting, investigations, and corrective actions.
- Partner with Compliance, Licensing, and Risk Management teams to address operational risks and regulatory requirements.
Strategic Planning and Growth
- Support new account startups, mobilizations, and operational transitions.
- Participate in strategic planning initiatives and organizational growth efforts.
- Assist with resource allocation and workforce forecasting.
- Evaluate operational trends and recommend process improvements.
- Collaborate with executive leadership on long-term business objectives and expansion opportunities.
- Support proposal development, client presentations, and business development activities as needed.
Reporting and Communication
- Prepare and present operational reports, financial updates, and performance metrics to Director of Security.
- Maintain effective communication with clients, site leadership.
- Ensure timely escalation and resolution of operational issues.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Security Management, Criminal Justice, or related field; equivalent experience may be substituted.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of leadership experience within physical security, contract security, military, law enforcement, or related industries.
- Minimum of 3 years managing multi-site operations and leadership teams.
- Strong knowledge of security operations, workforce management, compliance, and contract administration.
- Proven experience managing client relationships and operational budgets.
- Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and operational reporting systems.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel.
Preferred
- Experience supporting data centers, critical infrastructure, technology campuses, healthcare, or government security programs.
- Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Physical Security Professional (PSP), or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- Experience managing multi-state security operations and licensing requirements.
- Experience overseeing accounts with annual revenues exceeding $5 million.

Compensation & Benefits Disclosure
The base salary range for this role starts at $80,000 per year. This reflects a good‑faith estimate of what we reasonably expect to pay upon hire, based on factors such as skills, experience, education, and market/location. Our comprehensive benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance, Health Savings Account (HSA), gym discount, mental health, Discounted Group Life & AD&D, Discounted Group Short & Long-term Disability, 401(k) retirement matching, PTO/paid holidays, and parental leave. Final compensation will be determined by job‑related factors consistent with applicable law.
