As part of this growth, we are seeking an experienced Senior HR Business Partner to partner with one of our most strategically important and rapidly growing teams across the Netherlands.

Purpose of the Role

The Senior HR Business Partner (HRBP) will act as a trusted strategic partner to senior leaders within our Netherlands operations, supporting business performance through effective people strategy, workforce planning, and operational excellence.

This role will balance strategic HRBP responsibilities with hands-on delivery across the employee lifecycle, ensuring full compliance with Dutch employment law and local regulations, while aligning local practices to Salute’s global people strategy.

The role will also deputise for the HR Manager EMEA when required and provide coaching and guidance to HR team members and people leaders across EMEA.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic HR Business Partnering

  • Act as the primary HR partner for a complex and fast-growing workforce in the Netherlands, building strong and credible relationships with senior leaders.
  • Translate business strategy into a clear people agenda, aligning organisational design, workforce capability, and talent planning to operational needs.
  • Coach, guide, and challenge leaders on employee engagement, organisational effectiveness, and people-related decisions.
  • Partner with the HR Director EMEA and VP of People & Culture to shape and deliver regional HR priorities aligned with global objectives.

Workforce Planning & Organisational Design

  • Lead workforce planning activities, identifying capability gaps, future talent needs, and succession risks.
  • Partner with leadership to develop solutions, including succession planning, internal mobility, promotions, and targeted recruitment.
  • Support organisational change initiatives (e.g. restructures, growth, and transformation programmes), ensuring compliance with Dutch employment law and effective communication.

Employee Relations & Employment Law (Netherlands Focus)

  • Provide expert guidance on Dutch employment legislation, employee relations, and local best practice.
  • Lead and manage complex employee relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance, absence, performance, and terminations, ensuring fairness, consistency, and compliance.
  • Develop and maintain Netherlands-specific policies, procedures, and employee documentation aligned with Salute’s global framework.
  • Liaise with external legal counsel where required.

Talent, Performance & Development

  • Partner with Talent Acquisition to support hiring of critical roles, advising on contracts, terms, and conditions in line with Dutch law.
  • Ensure strong onboarding processes that drive engagement and early productivity.
  • Drive performance management processes, ensuring robust objective setting, continuous feedback, and development planning.
  • Support leadership capability through coaching and targeted development initiatives.

HR Governance & Operational Excellence

  • Ensure high standards of HR data management and compliance with GDPR.
  • Oversee accuracy of employment documentation and payroll inputs for the Netherlands workforce.
  • Support the implementation and optimisation of HR systems and processes.
  • Act as a mentor and coach to HR colleagues and managers across EMEA.

Person Specification

Essential

  • Fluent in English (Dutch language skills desirable but not essential, depending on role scope).
  • 10–15 years’ HR experience, with significant time spent in a senior HR Business Partner or strategic generalist role.
  • Strong, up-to-date knowledge of Dutch employment law and HR practices.
  • Proven experience managing complex employee relations matters and supporting the full employee lifecycle.
  • Experience operating in a fast-paced, scaling, or operational business environment.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, influencing, and coaching skills.

Desirable

  • Experience supporting Nordics (e.g. Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland)employment practices and legislation.
  • Experience within international or matrix organisations across EMEA.
  • Exposure to multi-site, remote, or technical workforces.
  • Experience within data centres, engineering, construction, or mission-critical environments.
