Salary: $110K/yr + 10% annual bonus (based on experience and qualifications)

Hours: 8am-5pm (Monday – Friday)

Location: 100% Remote

An Infrared Thermography Program Leader is responsible for leading all aspects of thermography operations including curriculum development, certification training delivery, inspection program management, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will possess advanced infrared thermography certifications (Level III preferred) and demonstrated expertise in mission-critical facilities applications, particularly data center and electrical infrastructure environments.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

  • Program Development and Management
    1. Establish and manage a comprehensive infrared thermography training program aligned with industry standards (ISO 18436-7, ASNT SNT-TC-1A, ANSI/ASNT CP-108)
    2. Develop and implement written practices and procedures for thermographer certification and program operations
    3. Define program success metrics and identify strategies to overcome program obstacles
  • Training Curriculum Design and Delivery
    1. Design and deliver Level I and Level II infrared thermography certification courses for internal staff and external clients
    2. Create comprehensive training materials including presentations, student reference manuals, field exercises, and practical lab activities
    3. Develop specialized thermography training for data center facilities, electrical distribution systems, HVAC/mechanical equipment, and building diagnostics
    4. Facilitate hands-on training sessions with infrared cameras, thermal imaging software, and report generation tools
    5. Conduct ongoing refresher training and continuing education programs to maintain certification compliance
    6. Mentor thermographers and provide technical guidance on complex thermal analysis scenarios
  • Regulatory Compliance and Standards
    1. Ensure program compliance with NFPA 70B annual infrared thermography requirements for all electrical equipment
    2. Implement OSHA, NFPA, and industry-specific safety standards for infrared inspection activities
    3. Maintain compliance with ASNT SNT-TC-1A, ISO 18436-7, ASTM, ANSI, and NETA standards and specifications
    4. Stay current with evolving infrared thermography standards, best practices, and regulatory requirements

Key Skills and Qualifications

  • Education
    1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Facilities Management, or related technical field (preferred)
    2. Associate degree or equivalent technical training with substantial field experience may be considered
  • Certifications (Required)
    1. Minimum Level II Certified Infrared Thermographer required with commitment to achieve Level III within 18 months
  • Professional Experience
    1. Minimum 5-7 years of hands-on experience performing infrared thermography inspections in industrial, commercial, or mission-critical facilities
    2. Minimum 3-5 years of experience developing and delivering infrared thermography training programs
    3. Extensive experience with electrical system thermography including medium-voltage distribution, transformers, switchgear, and power distribution equipment
    4. Experience conducting thermographic surveys in data center environments highly preferred
    5. Demonstrated experience with mechanical systems thermography including HVAC equipment, cooling towers, chillers, and process systems
  • Instructional and Leadership Skills
    1. Proven ability to design adult learning curricula and deliver technical training to diverse audiences
    2. Strong presentation and facilitation skills with ability to engage learners in hands-on practical exercises
    3. Experience developing training materials including course content, presentations, lab exercises, and assessment instruments
    4. Ability to mentor and develop junior thermographers and technical staff
    5. Project management skills including planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and performance tracking

Compensation & Benefits Disclosure

The base pay for this role is $110,000 per year This range reflects a good‑faith estimate of what we reasonably expect to pay upon hire, based on factors such as skills, experience, education, and market/location. Our comprehensive benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance, Health Savings Account (HSA), gym discount, mental health, Discounted Group Life & AD&D, Discounted Group Short & Long-term Disability, 401(k) retirement matching, PTO/paid holidays, and parental leave. This posted salary is the final rate of pay for the position, based on job‑related factors consistent with applicable law.
