As we continue to grow, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Area Manager to join our team and drive our relationships with hyperscale clients to new heights.

The Area Manager is responsible for overseeing the execution of all strategic account projects across the metro area. This role includes managing a team of Project Managers, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The Area Manager will serve as the secondary escalation point to the client, helping to grow the client relationship, solve complex issues, and ensure client satisfaction. The Area Manager will also be responsible for financial tracking and building processes to improve operational efficiencies. Travel to all metro sites is required.

Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Team Management:
    1. Oversee a team of Project Managers, providing guidance, support, and mentorship
    2. Foster a collaborative, results-driven team environment with an emphasis on professional growth and high-performance standards
    3. Conduct regular performance reviews and implement improvement plans as necessary
  • Client & Stakeholder Relations:
    1. Act as the secondary escalation point for clients, ensuring quick resolution of issues and effective communication
    2. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure satisfaction and promote business growth
    3. Work with clients to understand their needs, provide regular updates, and identify opportunities for service improvements or additional services
  • Project & Operational Oversight:
    1. Ensure all projects are managed effectively, meeting client specifications, timelines, and budget requirements
    2. Monitor progress of active projects, ensuring that Project Managers are adhering to schedules, budgets, and quality standards
    3. Support Project Managers in problem-solving and solutioning when challenges arise, ensuring minimal impact on project delivery
  • Financial Tracking & Budget Oversight:
    1. Oversee the financial tracking of all projects, ensuring that budgets are maintained, and any variances are addressed promptly
  • Policy Enforcement & QAQC:
    1. Ensure 100% adherence to company policies, industry regulations, and client-specific requirements
    2. Regularly review and audit project performance for quality assurance and continuous improvement (QAQC).
    3. Provide guidance and support to Project Managers in enforcing policies and maintaining standards across all projects
  • Efficiency & Process Improvement:
    1. Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency enhancements, both within the team and in the broader operational workflows
    2. Develop and implement solutions that improve project delivery times, reduce costs, and enhance overall service quality
    3. Regularly communicate with the team to ensure alignment on new processes, improvements, and expectations
  • Training & Development:
    1. Support onboarding, ongoing training, and development of Project Managers to ensure they have the necessary tools and skills to succeed
    2. Conduct training on safety standards, policies, client expectations, and operational best practices
    3. Ensure the team stays up to date on safety protocols and company initiatives
  • Travel Requirements:
    1. Travel to Region sites as needed
    2. No restrictions on out-of-state travel; must be able to travel (30%) as needed

Professional Experience / Qualifications:

  • Leadership Experience: Proven experience in managing a team of Project Managers or similar roles, with a focus on achieving improved results, customer satisfaction, and project profitability
  • Client Relationship Management: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build and nurture client relationships. Experience in working directly with clients to resolve issues and identify opportunities for growth
  • Education Experience: High School Diploma or GED required; 2-year or 4-year degree preferred
  • Project Management Expertise: In-depth knowledge of project management processes, financial tracking, and risk mitigation
  • Problem-Solving & Solutioning: Strong ability to quickly identify problems and develop effective solutions in a fast-paced environment
  • Financial Oversight: Experience in tracking budgets, managing project financials, and overseeing cost control measures
  • Process Improvement & Efficiency Building: Proven track record of driving operational improvements and implementing processes that lead to increased efficiency and effectiveness
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in project management software and tools, with the ability to communicate technical requirements effectively to internal teams and clients; Data Center experience preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment, up to 40lbs.
  • Ability to climb ladders and multiple flights of stairs to access elevated equipment
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time in various work environments
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach for equipment related tasks
  • Basic physical fitness to respond quickly to emergency situations and navigate areas quickly
  • Ability to move quickly and efficiently withing various work environments to troubleshoot issues or respond to emergencies.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and dexterity for working with small components and connectors
  • Clear vision, with or without correction, to perform tasks requiring attention to detail and precision while wearing safety glasses
  • Ability to differentiate between color-coded warning signs, labels, and cables
  • Ability to work in environments with a wide variety temperature inside a facility
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme temperatures, rain, or snow
  • Capability to work in environments with elevated noise levels while wearing hearing protection
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license for work-related travel, as required

Compensation & Benefits Disclosure
The base pay range for this role is $85,000 - $95,000 per year. This range reflects a good‑faith estimate of what we reasonably expect to pay upon hire, based on factors such as skills, experience, education, and market/location. Our comprehensive benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance, Health Savings Account (HSA), gym discount, mental health, Discounted Group Life & AD&D, Discounted Group Short & Long-term Disability, 401(k) retirement matching, PTO/paid holidays, and parental leave. Final compensation will be determined by job‑related factors consistent with applicable law.
