Equifax is looking for a Mobile Application Architect with deep security expertise to spearhead the design and evolution of our next-generation mobile landscape. Cybersecurity is a company-wide priority at Equifax, so this position will also play a pivotal role in ensuring the confidentiality and integrity of our data.

In this position, you will take on the role of being a technical authority for our mobile ecosystem. Your mission is to help with the creation of high-performance, scalable mobile architectures where security is not a "bolt-on" feature, but a fundamental part of the DNA. You will empower our engineering teams by providing the guidance, patterns, and influence to build world-class financial services applications that are secure by design.

You will be responsible for the architectural integrity, security, and scalability of our iOS and Android applications. As a leader within our Mobile Center of Excellence (CoE), you will champion a cross-platform strategy using Flutter & Dart, ensuring that our development standards, security protocols, and deployment pipelines are unified and world-class.

  • Equifax has a hybrid work schedule that allows for 2 days of remote work (Monday and Friday), with 3 days onsite (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) every week.
  • This role reports to our office in Alpharetta, Georgia OR midtown ATL (OAC).
  • This position does not offer immigration sponsorship (current or future) including F-1 STEM OPT extension support.
  • This is a direct-hire role and is not open to C2C or vendors.

What You’ll Do

  • Architecture & Design: Serve as the enterprise architect for Equifax mobile applications, defining a secure technical stack, framework selection, and structural patterns for iOS and Android platforms.
  • Center of Excellence Leadership: Establish and govern mobile development standards, reusable component libraries, and architectural patterns to be used across all internal and external-facing apps.
  • Secure Engineering: Research and develop "Golden Path" architectural patterns that allow developers to ship code quickly without sacrificing security or integrity.
  • Technical Roadmap: Drive the mobile strategy, creating reference architectures and implementation guides for web and mobile-native applications.
  • Vulnerability Mitigation: Lead the strategy for detecting and remediating vulnerabilities within the development lifecycle (shifting security and privacy to the left).
  • Collaborative Leadership: Partner with product and engineering squads to translate complex business requirements into secure, high-quality technical designs.
  • Policy as Code: Develop and maintain technical standards and guidelines that automate security best practices within the CI/CD pipeline; serve as the mobile representative in strategic architecture and compliance reviews.
  • Mentorship: Provide thought leadership and technical coaching to mobile developers and QA teams on modern secure-coding techniques.
  • Supply Chain Security: Drive the strategy for evaluating and monitoring third-party mobile SDKs, open-source libraries, and vendor dependencies through SCA tooling and SBOM generation, in line with SDLC standards.

What Experience You’ll Need

  • Engineering Foundation: 7–10 years of professional experience in Mobile Software Engineering and Architecture. You should have a proven track record of shipping complex, large-scale mobile apps.
  • Mobile-First Mindset: Deep expertise in mobile-specific languages and frameworks (e.g., Swift/Kotlin, React Native, or Flutter) and a strong understanding of mobile OS internals.
  • Security Integration: At least 3 years of experience specifically focused on Application Security, with a mastery of how to bake security into the IDE, build process, and runtime.
  • Tools & Protocols: Strong knowledge of encryption protocols, modern authentication (OIDC, OAuth 2.0, Biometrics), and the OWASP Mobile Top 10.
  • Problem Solving: The ability to articulate complex architectural challenges to both executive leadership and junior engineers.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.

What Could Set You Apart

  • MAST Expertise: Experience with Mobile Application Security Testing (MAST) and automated security tooling within Jenkins or Git-based pipelines.
  • AI features in mobile: Governing on-device ML (e.g. Core ML, TensorFlow Lite) and LLM-integrated features from a security and privacy perspective.
  • Cloud Native: Experience building and securing the backend APIs (NodeJS, Java, or Python) that power mobile apps, particularly within GCP or AWS.
  • Zero Trust for mobile endpoints: Device trust scoring, MDM/MAM integration (Intune, Jamf), and mobile application management.
  • Mobile observability and resilience: Experience with crash intelligence platforms and defining mobile-specific SLOs/SLIs that feed into SRE design reviews.
  • Certifications: Professional credentials that bridge the gap between Dev and Sec (e.g., CASE, GWEB, or CISSP).
  • Industry Leadership: Experience navigating the unique security and regulatory requirements of the Financial Services sector.
