Role: Order Processing Coordinator

Reports to: Warehouse Supervisor

FLSA: Non-Exempt

Location: El Cajon, CA

The Order Processing Coordinator is the main point of contact for any questions or requests regarding a sales order or shipping out of the warehouse. They are the liaison between the warehouse and all other departments within the organization.

When you are not directly facilitating the order process, you will work with the Warehouse team to continue to meet customer needs by picking, packing, shipping, loading and unloading trucks.

What Will You Do

  • Support daily warehouse operations, offering guidance to warehouse associates to ensure productivity and adherence to warehouse procedures
  • Ensures timely and accurate processing and fulfillment of daily orders
  • Point of contact for any support required to troubleshoot sales order issues, cancellations or revisions
  • Directs and prioritizes the daily workload for warehouse associates
  • Sets daily shipping plan based on priorities, resources and cut-off times to optimize order fulfillment
  • Effectively communicates with leadership, warehouse personnel, customer service, marketing or sales to address and resolve any order issues promptly
  • Ensure all orders shipped within carrier cut-off/pick up times
  • Monitor and reconcile any open and unshipped sales orders within the ERP and/or WMS systems
  • Drive efficiencies by evaluating day-to-day processes and recommending improvements to order control and overlapping areas within the warehouse
  • Assist in meeting established KPI metrics as they apply to order control
  • Identify new KPIs or processes as needed to help improve and drive efficiencies
  • Ensures all safety rules and guidelines are being followed by all employees who step into the DC
  • Package and label shipments according to standard operating procedures, including hazardous materials, and complete all necessary documentation
  • Collaborate with your team to provide a great working experience, addressing issues as they arise and promoting teamwork

Requirements

What you will bring:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 5+ years of experience in a stockroom or warehouse setting, some supervisory experience preferred
  • Forklift certification is highly preferred; willingness to obtain certification if not currently held.
  • Proficiency with computers and scanning equipment is preferred; knowledge of FedEx and UPS shipping programs is a plus
  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong desire to work as part of a team, with the ability to work independently and solve problems efficiently
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment
  • Understanding of OSHA requirements and ensuring compliance with safety standards
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Excel, Word and Teams
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and work efficiently within deadlines

Physical Requirements

Perform the following tasks, with or without reasonable accommodation:

  • Must be proficient to operate a forklift, clamp devise, pallet jack, overhead crane devise and maintain OSHA forklift certification
  • Frequently lift and carry packages weighing up to 60 lbs.
  • Walk up and down stairs and stand for extended periods throughout the shift
  • Frequently bend and stoop to pick up packages
  • Efficiently pick, pack, and prepare items for shipment
  • The role primarily requires prolonged standing and continuous movement throughout the work shift
  • Employees are required to wear steel-toed safety shoes and other personal protective equipment as needed
  • This role is performed in a non-climate-controlled warehouse environment, which may be hot or cold at times depending on the season

Starting rate: $20.00/hr. (Salary may increase based on experience)
