Data Engineer

The Data Engineer is responsible for migrating customer’s data from their legacy software applications stored in databases, reports, and other forms of data file structures to the client’s new Edmunds GovTech ERP system. This position will regularly engage with our customers and serve as a critical role on the project teams by developing conversion templates and conversion tools using Java, Python, SQL and other programming languages.
$60,000 - $75,000 (Employer est)
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES WITH ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Develop data conversion programs using Java and other related technologies.
- Work with internal team members on mapping client’s legacy source data.
- Validate that data conversions meet customer expectations and requirements.
- Utilize a variety of tools and programs to facilitate the data conversion process.
- Work on multiple project teams and handle competing priorities effectively.
- Deliver high-quality customer service.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree in MIS, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or other degree that would provide the necessary skills to effectively develop programs, or equivalent work experience.
- 1-3 years of experience in professional services, client implementation, and/or data migrations.
- Working knowledge of multiple system/database platforms (MSSQL, Oracle, AS400, Windows, etc.) is a plus.
- Knowledge of generalized business practices, accounting reports, financial reports, and payroll reports is a plus.
- Working knowledge and abilities in programming using Java, Python, SQL, and other related technologies.
