The ideal candidate is hands-on, analytical, and thrives in a fast-paced SaaS environment. You are highly accountable, process-driven, and eager to identify improvements that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability. If you’re passionate about applying strong technical accounting expertise to support a high-growth business, this is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact.

What You’ll Do

  • Own accurate and timely recording of financial transactions in the general ledger, ensuring complete and precise financial documentation.
  • Execute month-end close activities, including journal entries and reconciliation/analysis of key balance sheet accounts.
  • Perform financial analyses such as P&L fluctuations, budget-to-actual comparisons, and variance reviews.
  • Manage fixed asset accounting, including capitalization and depreciation tracking.
  • Prepare payroll-related journal entries and maintain accounting-related payroll reports in Paycom.
  • Conduct monthly bank reconciliations, including final review of all CIBC accounts for accuracy and compliance.
  • Support AP and payment processes, including invoice review, expense processing, and other AP functions as needed.
  • Review consolidated departmental P&Ls to ensure accurate financial reporting and provide insights to leadership.
  • Verify accurate coding and classification of transactions using historical data, budgets, and relevant documentation.
  • Support annual financial audits by preparing lead schedules and providing detailed backup for auditor inquiries.
  • Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, consistency, and productivity across accounting workflows.
  • Lead the development, documentation, and ongoing refinement of accounting processes, SOPs, policies, and internal controls.
  • Ensure financial security through strict adherence to internal controls and policies.
  • Investigate and resolve internal and external inquiries regarding accounting transactions, discrepancies, and ledger activity.
  • Participate in strategic finance initiatives and support cross-functional projects.
  • Perform other duties, special projects, and ad hoc analyses as needed.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in technology or SaaS environments.
  • Combination of public accounting and private industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of US GAAP.
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and professional integrity.
  • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables.
  • Experience with NetSuite is preferred but not required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High ownership mentality, proactive mindset, and commitment to delivering results.
