Position
DaySmart is hiring a leader to own our opinionated Developer Platform and guide the infrastructure patterns that support our products. This person will manage a focused team that delivers a consistent, reliable platform so developers can spend more of their time building the software that runs our customers’ businesses—less time managing the underlying infrastructure.
The team will embed with product groups to migrate applications onto the DaySmart Developer Platform and help them adopt the technology, workflows, and operational practices that come with it. The goal: predictable deployments, solid observability, and clear ownership across environments.
What You’ll Do
Build and Drive Adoption of the DaySmart Developer Platform
- Lead the design, evolution, and rollout of our opinionated developer platform.
- Maintain and improve core components such as Kubernetes, ArgoCD, Kargo, and Grafana Cloud.
- Embed platform engineers with product teams to onboard and migrate their applications.
- Ensure the platform delivers real value to product teams by solving their delivery challenges at scale.
- Bake security and compliance expectations into platform workflows so teams inherit good practices automatically.
- Make the platform simple, consistent, and intuitive so developers can focus on delivering software.
Ensure Stability, Reliability, and Scalable Growth
- Provide architecture guidance that supports reliable and predictable operations.
- Partner with teams to improve the health and maturity of their services within platform guardrails.
- Define standards for logging, metrics, traces, dashboards, and alerts.
- Maintain the cloud infrastructure that underpins the platform.
- Promote good operational practices that reduce incidents and operational noise.
Promote Efficiency Through FinOps and Operational Clarity
- Build clear cost-visibility tools and dashboards for engineering teams.
- Help teams understand and optimize their resource usage.
- Identify opportunities to reduce waste and scale workloads efficiently.
- Foster a culture of thoughtful resource consumption and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Leadership experience in platform engineering, SRE, DevOps, or infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of Kubernetes (EKS), GitOps workflows, and cloud-native patterns.
- Hands-on AWS and on-premise experience.
- Experience driving adoption of an internal platform or standardized delivery model.
- Ability to embed with teams, guide migrations, and simplify complex systems.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code workflows.
- Background with cost optimization or engineering efficiency programs.
- Prior experience in organizations consolidating or maturing infrastructure practices.

Salary

The salary for this role is $200,000 - $225,000 per year. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, internal equity, etc.

How You Will Work
This will be a US based position. We offer flexible work arrangements including fully remote, in person or hybrid opportunities. For those looking to work in person, we have physical offices in the following cities:
- Ann Arbor, MI
- Scottsdale, AZ
- Wayne, PA
- Austin, TX
Many DaySmart employees primarily work from home, and our teams are structured to operate efficiently in a distributed environment. While we don’t always share a physical office, we work together closely through remote collaboration practices.
We maintain a highly collaborative culture and expect all employees to actively participate in meetings, discussions, and team interactions. This includes joining scheduled video calls with cameras on, contributing to conversations, and being fully present.
