Celero Commerce is looking for a Senior Accountant to join our Accounting team in Brentwood, Tennessee! The Senior Accountant of Celero Commerce is a key contributor to the Finance Department, taking on a leadership role in month-end close processes, preparing complex journal entries, and reconciling balance sheet accounts. This role plays an integral part in maintaining accurate financial records, fostering team growth, and implementing process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of accounting operations. Responsibilities:
- Prepares journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
- Lead and coordinate month-end close activities, ensuring timely and accurate completion of deliverables.
- Prepare complex journal entries and reconcile balance sheet accounts, ensuring accuracy and adherence to standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze financial data for reporting and decision-making purposes.
- Communicate timely, accurate, and courteous responses to internal team members, other departments, and external stakeholders in fulfilling requests.
- Train and mentor junior staff members to promote cross-training and knowledge transfer within the team.
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial transactions, meeting established thresholds.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and recommend and implement solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
- Participate in the development and improvement of processes and procedures to optimize accounting operations.
- Utilize accounting software and technology to record and track financial data accurately.
- Provide support for other accounting functions as needed.
Experience & Requirements:
- Proven ability to take a leadership role in month-end close processes and journal entry preparation.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards.
- Proficiency in using accounting software and MS Excel for data analysis and reporting.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills for meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial analysis.
- Effective communication skills for collaboration with team members and other departments.
- Ability to mentor and train junior staff members.
- Perform job functions in the best interest of Celero’s financial situation above all else
- Able to navigate ambiguity, while exploring innovative solutions and driving business impact
