About the Job

We're looking for a Patient Access & Referral Coordinator to serve as a central resource for patients, providers, and clinic teams across multiple CareATC health centers. In this role, you'll help patients access care, coordinate referrals, manage medical records, schedule appointments, and provide ongoing support throughout their healthcare journey.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys helping others, thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment, and takes pride in delivering exceptional service while keeping operations running smoothly.

What You'll Do

  • Answer incoming patient calls and serve as a primary point of contact for multiple clinic locations

  • Schedule, reschedule, and cancel appointments while managing waitlists and cancellations

  • Respond to patient inquiries and coordinate communication between patients, providers, and clinic teams

  • Conduct patient outreach and follow-up regarding appointments, referrals, lab results, records requests, and care coordination needs

  • Process and track specialty, diagnostic, and ancillary service referrals

  • Receive, maintain, and manage medical records and clinical documentation within the EMR

  • Assist with patient registration, demographic updates, and insurance information maintenance

  • Support clinic operations while delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining HIPAA compliance

What You'll Bring

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Medical Administrative Assistant certification or related healthcare administrative training preferred

  • Minimum two years of administrative experience in a healthcare setting required

  • Experience with patient scheduling, referrals, medical records, or healthcare call center operations preferred

  • Experience working within an electronic medical record (EMR) system preferred

  • Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare office operations

  • Strong communication, customer service, organizational, and time-management skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while supporting multiple clinic locations
