Position Summary:
The Inpatient Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing direct nursing care to patients in an inpatient setting. This role focuses on delivering high-quality, patient-centered care, monitoring patient conditions, administering treatments, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe and effective care.
Hours / Schedule: Full Time; Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate degree in nursing from an accredited college or university (or international equivalent) preferred.
Minimum of one (1) year of recent acute care experience in an institutional setting required.
One (1) year of home care and/or Hospice experience preferred.
Current RN license valid in the assigned state(s).
Current CPR certification is required.
Valid driver’s license with a reliable, insured vehicle, if required for operational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide professional nursing care in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies.
Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments, including vital signs, physical exams, and review of medical history.
Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans based on patient needs.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
Monitor and document patient status, including changes in condition, pain, and response to treatments.
Provide patient and family education regarding disease management, medications, and self-care techniques.
Assist patients with activities of daily living to promote comfort and independence.
Collaborate closely with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care.
Ensure patient safety and maintain a therapeutic and supportive environment.
Participate in daily rounds, interdisciplinary team meetings, and patient care conferences.
Engage in quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with regulatory standards.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record.
Attend continuing education, in-services, and training to maintain clinical competency.
Excellent observation, verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, basic math skills; nursing skills per competency checklist.
Prolonged or considerable walking or standing.
Able to lift, position and/or transfer patients.
Able to lift supplies and equipment.
Considerable reaching, stooping bending, kneeling and/or crouching.
Visual acuity and hearing to perform required nursing skills.
