Job Description Summary

The Regional Vice President of Operations is responsible for the overall direction of hospice clinical services. He/she establishes, implements and evaluates goals and objectives for hospice services that meet and promote the standards of quality and contribute to the total organization and philosophy.

Position Qualifications

  • EDUCATION:
    • Bachelor’s degree in nursing or related field from an accredited college or university or the international equivalent is preferred.
  • EXPERIENCE:
    • Three (3) years of management experience in a hospice or related health care organization.
    • Experience in a matrix environment.
    • Extensive experience in business and clinical operations.
  • CREDENTIAL/LICENSURE(S):
    • Registered Nurse in the state with current licensure to practice professional nursing in the State.
    • A valid driver’s license with a reliable, insured vehicle that meets state and/or organizational requirements.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for executing strategies through a decentralized management structure to meet or exceed annual goals and objectives in five areas:
    • Growth, ADC, Revenue
    • Compliance, Clinical Operations and Quality Assurance
    • Site operations and Profitability
    • Patient/Family Satisfaction
    • Staff management
  • This position has profit and loss responsibility for site(s) and must develop and manage an annual budget.
  • Oversee delivery of covered hospice medical care and benefits within region.
  • Direct all daily operations including: business development, program development around hospice including market expansions.
  • Recruit, select and retain highly qualified professionals.
  • Serve as key liaison between site and Corporate.
  • Participate in the Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement Program.
  • Adhere to policies, procedures and standard operating procedures.
  • Participate in hospice in-service training.
  • Provide technical/onsite support during the agency survey process.
  • Participate in Agency IDG meetings and provides technical/mentor support.
  • Provide mentoring toward clinical management related to pain and symptom management.
  • Engage in an ongoing self-development plan to build personal skills, organizational knowledge and enhance knowledge of the industry.
  • Identify and address skill and/or knowledge gaps to fulfill job responsibilities.
  • Seek opportunities to network with colleagues, share experiences, willingness to provide direct support, solicit feedback and exchange ideas.
  • Develop and achieve professional growth goals and objectives and reviews with supervisor.
  • Perform other operational duties as assigned by management to support department goals and initiatives.
