Position Summary:

The HR Specialist oversees and manages various human resources functions, including unemployment claims, workers' compensation, benefits administration, COVID exemptions, and employee leaves. This role ensures accurate processing, tracking, and maintenance of employee records within the company’s HR and benefits systems while supporting overall HR operations.

Hours / Schedule:

Full Time, working Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three (3) years of Human Resources experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and maintain employee records for unemployment, workers' compensation, leaves, ensuring accurate tracking and compliance.

  • Manage sign-on and retention bonus agreements, maintaining proper documentation and tracking.

  • Maintain and update job descriptions for all employees.

  • Process employee verification and loan verification requests.

  • Administer benefits programs, including COBRA submissions, and assist employees with enrollment in health insurance, retirement plans, and other benefits.

  • Conduct new employee benefits meetings and open enrollment sessions.

  • Collaborate with benefits providers to resolve issues and ensure smooth administration.

  • Maintain accurate employee records in the HRIS system, ensuring compliance with legal and company policies.

  • Manage new hire entries in HRIS, including PTO accrual setup, onboarding documents, and time clock instructions.

  • Process employee status changes, including address updates, position/rate changes, and terminations.

  • Complete termination processes in HRIS after all final payments are processed.

  • Update employee direct deposit, tax information, and benefits vendor platforms with status and pay changes.

  • Work with the disability vendor to administer short- and long-term disability claims and update payroll deductions.

  • Maintain and update employee records in the 401(k)-retirement platform, including new hire enrollments and terminations.

  • Perform other HR duties as assigned to support department goals and initiatives.
