We are seeking a highly skilled Service Technician to join our Service Team in Leamington, ON. The Service Technician is responsible for installing, servicing, troubleshooting, and maintaining irrigation, fertigation, mechanical, and basic electrical systems used in controlled-environment greenhouse operations. This role provides on-site and remote technical support to growers across Ontario, ensuring systems operate safely, reliably, and efficiently. The Technician represents the company professionally while delivering high-quality service and customer experience.

Responsibilities:

Installation & Commissioning

  • Install irrigation and fertigation systems including pumps, valves, filters, manifolds, piping, and dosing equipment.
  • Perform system start-ups, pressure and flow testing, calibration, and functional verification.
  • Configure system components such as sensors, flow meters, and mechanical equipment.

Service, Maintenance & Troubleshooting

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and basic electrical issues within irrigation and fertigation equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and replace worn or damaged components.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools such as pressure gauges, multimeters, and manufacturer-specific service equipment.
  • Document service work, site findings, and recommendations in digital service reports.

Customer Support

  • Provide training to greenhouse operators on irrigation/fertigation equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Communicate clearly on repair needs, preventive recommendations, and system performance.
  • Support customers by phone, virtual support tools, and on-site visits.

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) requirements, company safety procedures, and greenhouse safety protocols.
  • Ensure work meets applicable electrical, mechanical, and environmental compliance requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, safe service vehicle and adhere to safe driving practices under Ontario regulations.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, skills, and abilities required)

  • Post secondary diploma or certificate in Electromechanical Technology, Electrical Technology, Mechanical Technician, Horticulture Technology, Plumbing/Fluid Systems, or a related field, preferred. Equivalent professional experience may be considered.

2–5 years’ experience in one or more of the following:

  • Irrigation or fertigation installation and service, preferred.
  • Mechanical or electrical service in agricultural, industrial, or greenhouse environments
  • Pump, piping, and fluid-handling system maintenance
  • Experience with greenhouse equipment or horticulture facilities is an asset.
  • Experience working with low-voltage systems preferred (within ESA guidelines).
  • Valid driver’s license (required for work-related travel). Valid passport and ability to travel across the Canada–U.S. border
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving ability.
  • Competent with reading drawings, technical schematics, and piping layouts.
  • Knowledge of irrigation principles: flow, pressure, filtration, pumps, and fertigation equipment.
  • Proficient with computers/mobile devices for reporting and diagnostics.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently in remote greenhouse environments.
